YARN REQUIRED: You will need #5 / Bulky / Chunky / Craft weight fluffy fuzzy yarn, e.g., Neige from Phildar for the body and #3 / Light / DK / Light Worsted weight yarn, e.g., Barisienne from Bergere de France for the face and feet. You will also need different coloured yarns for the pompoms and tassels.
RECOMMENDED HOOK SIZE: 3 mm and 3.5 mm crochet hooks.

YARN REQUIRED: #6 / Super Bulky / Roving weight fuzzy yarn in white, e.g., Pipsqueak from Bernat. You will also need # 4 / Medium / Worsted / Aran weight yarn in ivory. You’ll need two skeins (about 250 yards) of the white fuzzy yarn and about 50 g of the worsted-weight ivory yarn.

Alpacas are so cute! Why not make a whole family of them? This free download includes patterns for a small alpaca (25 cm tall) and a large alpaca (35 cm tall).

By varying the size of the yarn and hook, you can make alpacas of all different sizes. The pattern is in UK crochet terms.

YARN REQUIRED: #2 / Fine / Sport weight yarn, e.g., Curly from Go Handmade for the body of the crochet toy. #1 / Super Fine / Sock / Fingering weight cotton yarn for the feet, e.g., Little One’s Cotton. You’ll need 200 g of Curly and 25 g of Little One’s Cotton for the large alpaca. And 150 g of Curly and 25 g of Little One’s Cotton for the small alpaca.
RECOMMENDED HOOK SIZE: 5 mm (H-8) 6 mm (J-10) crochet hooks for the large toy; 4 mm (G-6) and 5 mm (H-8) crochet hooks for the smaller toy.

This colourful crochet alpaca is quite large, measuring approximately 21½” high and 15½” long when completed (55 cm x 39 cm). Mateo the Alpaca is a free pattern.

YARN REQUIRED: #6 / Super Bulky / Roving weight yarn, e.g., Luxury Velvet from Schachenmayr. #2 / Fine / Sport weight cotton yarn, e.g. Catania Solids from Schachenmayr. You will need approximately three skeins of Luxury Velvet in bunny (beige) and one skein of fox (the reddish-brown colour). You will also need multiple colours of the Catania Solids for the facial details and the saddle. The colours used in the pattern are schwarz, vanille, apricot, amaranth, mint, and aquarelle.
RECOMMENDED HOOK SIZE: 5 mm (H-8) and 6 mm (J-10) crochet hooks.
